Women Development Cell, NSS and Department of Hindi of Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya Mukerian, in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Hoshiarpur and Social Welfare Club, Ulaha , organised a programme to celebrate National Youth Week. Dr Sonia Sharma, Incharge, Woman Cell, welcomed the audience. Principal Dr Sameer Sharma was invited as the Chief Guest. Addressing the audience, he stated that National Youth Week is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of youth icon Swami Vivekananda. He was the source of inspiration and has motivated numerous youth organizations, study circles and service projects involving the youth. Ms. Tanya Mahajan, Deptt. of English, highlighted the significance of Skill Development Program. She made the students aware about the policies of the government which can help them grab umpteen job opportunities. Asst. Prof. Ashok Chaudhary, Deptt. Of Physics, also cognised the students about the myriad programmes offering great career options. He further said that the main objective behind the celebration is to channelise the energy of the youth towards building a better nation. The event ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. Sameer Mahajan, Head, Deptt. Of Hindi.
