The Post-Graduate Department of Chemistry is a dynamic centre for research at the frontiers of Chemical Science. The emphasis at the curricular level is to give a broad coverage of most common branches of Chemistry in keeping with the inter-disciplinary nature of the subject today.

The Department admits students to a three year degree programs in B.Sc., and a two year program in M.Sc. Chemistry which is the most happening field with incalculable demand for the masters of the subject in Research, Teaching, Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industry.

In year 1993, Department of Chemistry was added as an extension to the Science Department.
