Under the aegis of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian celebrated World Water Day on March 22, 2021. The theme of World Water Day is “Valuing Water” and highlights the importance of conserving water and its value.
Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma said the day is aimed at highlighting the importance of water and raising awareness about the water crisis that the world faces. Providing vital services to the human population, water is needed for human health and livelihood. Without its existence, we can’t think of food, oxygen, and the human population,he said.
Dr. Sameer Mahajan, Head, Department of Hindi stated that at present, water crisis is a global concern. There are billions of people who are still living without access to safe water resources globally.
Dr. Arun Kumar, Head, Department of Physics, said World Water Day has been celebrated each year on March 22 since 1992. This day focuses on the importance of freshwater and presses for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.
Dr. Sonia Sharma from the department of Hindi thanked the college Principal, College Managing Committee and all faculty members.
