Workshop on Leadership and Community Development: Day 1: Three day workshop on Leadership and Community was organised at SPN, College, Mukerian by Nehru Yuva Kendra in collaboration with Departments of Hindi and Physical Education and the Youth Club. Day one of the workshop started with lamp lightening of Goddess Saraswati followed by welcome of the guests by Dr.Sonia Sharma, convener of Youth Club.Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma welcomed the guests and commenced the morning session with his presentation on Leadership. He gave a very motivating and enthusiastic presentation. He illuminated new thoughts among the audience of how to get motivated and how to inculcate leadership qualities without any self interest. He stressed on hard work and team work. Second lecture of this session was by Prof. Arun Kumar, HOD Physics on Nation First and Character must. A commendable lecture was delivered by him focussing on character development and priority of youth towards nation development. Dr.Gurpreet Kaur, HOD Biology spoke on Health and Hygiene. Evening session began with a very inspiring lecture by Prof
Bikramjit Singh, Registrar on Communication Skills. Prof. Harpreet Kaur, HOD Home Science gave a very informative lecture on Adolescence and Nutrition. Dr.Satvir Singh, Psychiatrist, Civil Hospital, Mukerian enlightened and discussed various aspects of Drug Addiction among youth. The first day of the workshop concluded with presenting of momentos to the speakers of the day by the organizers of the workshop.

Workshop on Leadership and Community Development: Day 2: The second day of three day workshop on Leadership and Community, organised at SPN, College, Mukerian by Nehru Yuva Kendra under aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Department of India in collaboration with Departments of Hindi and Physical Education and the Youth Club was very informative and motivating for the students. Dr. R.K. Seth, HOD Physics, DAV University, Jalandhar guided the students to get rid of negative thoughts and be positive for every aspect of life. He focussed to have a positive mindset to achieve goals in life. Under the guidance of Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma the second day also commenced in a very well organized manner. Dr. Sameer, HOD Hindi and Dr. Sonia Sharma, Convener Youth Club trained and guided the participants regarding rules and regulations to be followed for a successful life. Social activist Hagan Rana emphasised on role of youth in Nation building. Prof. Bikramjit delevered talk on physical education and its importance. Prof.Sunil Agarwal, HOD Commerce spoke on personality development. Mr. Vikrant spoke regarding administrative aspects. Prof. Tarun Ghai, HOD Political Science spoke about various elements of communication skills for a successful professional life. Prof. Gulshan Kumar talked about Cyber laws. At this event Vijay Rana, P.S. Rana, Ashutosh Sharma were all present. The day concluded with presenting of momentos to the guest speakers.

Workshop on Leadership and Community Development: Day 3: Validictory Ceremony: The last day of the three day workshop organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of India was full of enthusiastic and positive vibrations. Sh. Sanjeev Anand ji, Secretary Management Committe, SPN College was the honourable guest of the validictory function.The event started with welcome of Sh. Sanjeev Anand ji by Principal Dr.Sameer Sharma ji. Dr. Sonia Sharma, Convener of Youth Club and Co-ordinator of the workshop presented the welcome address. Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma ji presented the three day report of the workshop and thanked the management committe and the organizers of the workshop. Sh.Sanjeev Anand ji congratulated Principal Dr.Sameer Sharma ji and members of the organizing committe on successful completion of the event. Sh.Sanjeev Anand ji ignited a spark of confidence and hardwork among the participants. He stressed to always have a positive attitude towards life. The members of the Nehru Yuva Kendra under aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India extended a vote of thanks to Sh.Sanjeev Anand ji by presenting him a momento. Dr Sameer, HOD Hindi and Convener of workshop motivated the students to work hard in life, always strive to achieve success and to never forget the moral values.40 students ( 20 male and 20 female) and 10 members of youth club were the participants of the workshop. There were 12 lectures by the eminent speakers during this workshop which illuminated the students. Sh. Sanjeev Anand ji and Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma ji awarded the winners of the declamation contest. Dheeraj , MA Hindi; Kiranpreet Kaur, B.Sc. Medical and Lovejeet Kaur, BCA got first, second and the third positions in the contest. The organizing committe comprising Dr. Sameer, Dr Sonia Sharma, Dr Gurpreet Kaur, Prof. Bikramjit Singh, Dr.Gopi Sharma, Prof.Gulshan Kumar, Prof. Nidhi, Prof Kanika Thakur and Prof. Amandeep Singh were also honoured for their efforts in making this workshop a successful one.
