Blood Donation camp and Inter college Competitions were organized by the Youth and Red Ribbon clubs, NCC and NSS units of Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian in collaboration with Directorate of Youth Services, Punjab and HDFC Bank. The event started with inauguration of the blood donation camp by chief guest Sh. Ajit Narang ji, Vice- President and Sh. Sanjeev Anand ji, Secretary, Management Committe, SPN College, Mukerian.Mr.Preet Kohli, Assistant Director, Youth Services, Hoshiarpur graced the event with his presence.The Blood Donation camp was very efficiently managed by Dr.J.P.Singh from Civil Hospital, Mukerian.There was great enthusiasm amongst the donors to donate blood for the noble cause. Further parallel to this were organized the Inter-college competitions.Rangoli and Poster making, Essay writing and the Declamation contest were the various events in which the students from 13 colleges of Hoshiarpur District participated. Dr.Sonia Sharma, convener of Youth and Red Ribbon club welcomed all the guests, faculty from different colleges and the participants for various events. Madam Indu Bala ji , MLA was the chief guest for this event.The honourable guests of this event were Sh.Ajit Narang ji, Sh.Sanjeev Anand ji and S.Preet Kohli ji. This event was inaugurated by the lamp lighting ceremony by the esteemed guests. Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma ji welcomed the guests and addressed the audience. He threw light on the indespensible role a youth has in taking the nation onto the road of success. He also guided the students about the teachings and preachings of Swami Vivekananda, whose birthday is marked as National Youth Day by the Government of India.Sh.Ajit Narang ji also addressed the audience and expressed his valuable views to the youth for their as well as the well being of the society. S. Preet Kohli ji also addressed the audience and gave his valuable remarks. He very efficiently brought to the knowledge of the audience about the various efforts done by the Government of Punjab for upliftment of the youth. He convinced the faculty members and the youth to come forward and participate in such events as Government is providing various sources for the youth welfare. Madam Indu Bala ji also guided the students , gave them valuable suggestions to respect their elders, to work for their culture, to participate in events and to never loose hope and work hard to their level best. Some cultural items of Bhand, Mimicry, Play and Bhangra were performed by the students of SPN college to welcome all the guests.76 units of blood were donated during the blood donation camp.The winners of the inter- college competition, participants of these events and the blood donors were all honoured with certificates and trophies.Dr.Pushpinder Kumari, Prof. Sunil Agarwal, Dr.Sameer, Prof.Harpreet Kaur, Prof.Nidhi Sood, Prof.Pankaj Sareen, Dr.Gurpreet Kaur, Prof.Gopi Sharma, Prof.Bikramjit Singh, Prof.Amandeep Singh were all present at the event.
