The NCC, NSS, Red Ribbon and Youth Clubs of Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian organised a poster making competition on the topic “Yoga: Fitness For All”. While addressing the students, Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma highlighted the benefits of yoga and how its practice on a regular basis can stabilise the mental hygiene as well as physical wellness. He said that Yoga can also quell anxiety disorders and helps quiet negative mental chatter. “Yoga is an indispensable part of our lifestyle. It offers a cornucopia of physical and mental health benefits for people of all ages.”, he said. Dr. Chandrashekhar, HoD Physical Education delineated the pros and cons of Yoga in daily life. He demonstrated as well as performed various Yoga Asanas with explanation to the participants. He further encouraged everyone to practice yoga for a healthy life. On this occasion, a poster making competition was organised where the top three positions were bagged by Ravit Kumar, Chetna and Nisha, Gurdeep Kaur and Vandna, respectively. The event witnessed the presence of Dr. Pushpinder Kumari (Incharge NSS), Dr. Sameer Mahajan (Incharge NSS), Dr. Gopi Sharma (Incharge NCC), and Asst. Prof. Anuradha (Incharge Red Ribbon and Youth Club).
