The Department of Home Science of Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian, organised a seminar on “Consumer Rights and Responsibilities”. Prof.Sunil Aggarwal, Head, Department of Commerce was the resource person. The event commenced with a formal welcome by Asst.Prof.Harpreet Kaur, Head, Department of Home Science. Principal Dr.Sameer Sharma lauded the endeavours of the Department and encouraged them to organise such informative and insightful events in the future as well. While interacting with the students, Prof.Sunil Aggarwal stated that in today’s scenerio consumer is the king of the market and they should be well versed with their rights and responsibilities so that they are not deceived by the companies and the sellers.He further stated that consumer should act smartly and wisely while purchasing anything from the market.Government also runs various schemes for the betterment of the consumers,so it’s the need of hour that consumer should be aware of such schemes . The event ended with the vote of thanks by Asst. Prof. Harpreet Kaur. Ms. Monika Saini,Ms.Sarabjit Kaur and other staff members were also present at the seminar.
