To honour womanhood,SPN College Mukerian celebrated International Women’s Day with great ecstasy and joy.The initiative was collaboratively taken by Women Development Cell and Home- Science Department of the college.Smt.Chanchal Narang was invited to grace the occasion as the chief guest.Mrs.Minakshi Anand,Mrs.Varsha Swaraj,Mrs.Shukla Mahajan,Mrs.Alka Lakhanpaul and Dr.Seema Sharma from D.A.V College Jalandhar was the guest of honour of the event.The event commenced with the invocation of Goddess Saraswati,the epitome of knowledge and strength.College Principal Dr.Sameer Sharma welcomed the chief guest and present dignitaries.He accented the importance of this day by glorifying the achievements of women in myriad arenas.Chief guest Mrs. Chanchal Narang described women as the creator of society in her interaction with the audience.She further stated that in our Indian culture woman is pivotal.During this occasion a modelling session was organised by Prof.Harpreet Kaur (HOD,Home- Science Dept.) and staff.Dr Sonia Sharma present a vote of thanks to the present dignitaries.
