To commemorate the Great Visionary Dr. CV Raman, the post graduate department of Chemistry, Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian celebrated “National Science Day” on February 28, 2022. The theme of this year’s Science Day was ‘Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future’. Dr. Jasminder Singh commenced the event with a warm welcome of the college principal and all participants. Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest, Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma highlighted the importance of science and technology in society. Recalling the legendary CV Raman, he presented a brief on the Raman Effect.
On this occasion, poster and model making competitions on science and technology themes were organised. In the poster-making competition the top three positions were bagged by Sumanpreet Kaur, Suman Deep Kaur and Nikita, respectively. Manisha grabbed the first position, while Preet Kaur and Rupa Kumari won the second and third position in the model making competition. Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma awarded the winners with certificates. The event was concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Prof. Parveen Saini, Head, department of Chemistry. The event was attended by Prof. Jagdish Singh, Asst. Prof. Harpreet, Asst. Prof. Vandana Malicious and other faculty members.
