“De di hamein aazaadi bina khadag bina dhaal, Sabarmati ke Sant tune kar diya kamaal”

SWAMI PREMANAND MAHAVIDYALAYA CELEBRATED GANDHI JAYANTI ON VIRTUAL PLATFORM

The Post-Graduate Department of History, in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club and Youth Club of Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian , celebrated Gandhi Jayanti through an online event. Addressing the students, Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma gave a brief on the various facets of Gandhiji’s life. He also mentioned about Gandhiji’s struggle for freedom and the sacrifices made by him for the country.
Head, Department of History, Dr Pushpinder Kumari also extolled about the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi and emphasised on the need for imbibing the universal values of nonviolence, truth and self reliance. She further stated that this day is also being celebrated as “the International Day of Non-Violence” across the globe. The students of M.A participated with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. Yashika Dogra sang the famous hymn “De di hamein aazaadi bina khadag bina dhaal” and paid homage to our endearing Father of the Nation. Various other students also gave their contribution in making this event successful. The event concluded with motivating words of Smt. Anuradha, Incharge of Red Ribbon Club and Youth Club. She also enlightened the students with the Gandhian values and thoughts. Sh. Gurinder Singh and Ms. Ritu were also present at the event.
