Digital India and Yoga Practices

Under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of India, two sessions of Digital India and Yoga practices were organized by the departments of Computer Science and Physical Education at Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian. The sessions started with the welcome address by Principal Arun Kumar. Sir guided the students regarding the importance and utility of digitalisation in India. Also he focused on the role of yoga for both mental and physical well being.Prof.Pankaj Sareen, Head Department of Computer Science enlightened the audience with various applications as provided by Government of India for the benefit of general population. He talked about Swayam, Umang, DigiLocker and other applications which play an important role for youth development and are very easy to use to avail the e- government services. He also guided the audience to generate safe passwords for these applications. A Declamation contest was also conducted at this event. Dr.Sonia Sharma, Convener Youth and Red Ribbon clubs, Prof. Harpreet Kaur, Head , Department of Home Science and Dr.Gurpreet Kaur, Head, Department of Biology were the judges for the contest. Manpreet Kaur, Daljit Kaur and Shantanu Raina were the winners of the contest. Dr. Sameer, Head, Department of Hindi, Prof.Pankaj Sareen and Prof.Bikramjeet Singh, Department of Physical Education were honoured by the officials of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for organising this event. This event was concluded with vote of thanks by Prof. Bikramjit Singh. Prof Parveen, Prof.Amandeep Kaur, Prof. Amandeep Singh, Prof. Gulshan, Prof. Gopi Sharma and Prof. Suraj Mala were present at the event.
