The Department of Home Science and Department of Fashion Desining at Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian organized a scarf tying competition, showcasing various ways to style scarves for fashion, function, and cultural significance. The event commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Harpreet Kaur, Head of the Department of Home Science. It was inaugurated in the esteemed presence of Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma, who graced the occasion with his support and encouragement. Following the inauguration, Ms. Monika Saini, Assistant Professor in Fashion Designing, outlined the competition rules and guidelines. The participants, filled with enthusiasm, showcased an array of scarf-tying techniques, including casual wear styles, professional and formal styles, winter &functional ties, cultural & traditional tying styles, creative & innovative Styles. Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma applauded the uniqueness of the event, appreciating the students’ creativity and dedication. The participants were judged based on creativity, uniqueness, neatness, time efficiency, and overall presentation. Sumiti (B.A. III) got first position, Arundeep Kahlon and Muskan of Fashion Designing secured second position. Manpreet Kaur (BA III) and Deepshikha of Fashion Designing were placed at third position. The competition featured elegant draping techniques, everyday fashionable knots, and styles inspired by diverse cultural traditions, adding depth to the event. Ms. Jyoti played a key role in moderating and organizing the competition. The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony for the winners and participants. Prof. Harpreet Kaur expressed heartfelt gratitude to Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma and the SPN College Management Committee for their support in making the event a resounding success.
