Glowing tributes poured in for Sh. B. N. Makkar Ji, the visionary leader and a great philanthropist on his 25th Death Anniversary. Principal, Dr. Sameer Sharma and faculty members offered floral tributes to this great soul at the college premises.

In 1970, Sh. B. N. Makkar ji founded Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya in the memory of an immortal soul called Swami Premanand Ji, a man of lofty intellect and spiritual standing. Following the footprints and ideals of Hon’ble Swami ji, Sh. B. N. Makkar ji decided to start an educational institution to disseminate not only formal education among the youth, but also to inculcate in them value-based education and high moral and spiritual ideals. The institution which started in a few rooms has today a splendid building with a conducive academic ambience. A charitable hospital following the name of Swami Premanand has also been constructed by Sh. Makkar ji.

“Sh. B.N. Makkar ji, was immensely popular for his warmth, humility, and simplicity. His logical thought endeared him to one and all. He will be remembered very dearly for his vision, and through his contributions he touched the lives of everyone he met. He left us for his heavenly abode on 12 April 1998, but he lives on in our hearts and thoughts. Today on his 25th death anniversary, the entire S.P.N fraternity bows before him for the commendable service he has rendered to mankind” said Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma.
