Sensitization for Coronavirus: A Seminar at Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian
On the sudden outbreak of a public heath domain ‘CORONAVIRUS’, the department of biology and the Red Ribbon Club organized a seminar ‘An Awareness on Coronavirus’ regarding its infectitious respiratory ailment. Filled with great curiosity, the students of department of biology and the Red Ribbon Club and many the faculty members attended the seminar with great enthusiasm.
Dr. Sonia Sharma, convener of the red ribbon club and Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, head of department of biology honoured the worthy Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma with a sapling as a token of longevity and bright future. Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma further extended his welcome to Dr. Siddhant Kapila, Pediatrician, Civil Hospital, Mukerian and presented him with a sapling.
Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma introduced the audience about Coronavirus and its outbreak. Furthermore, Dr. Siddhant Kapila, the guest of honour very adequately emphasized on the causal agent, symptoms and the precautionary approach related to this infectitious illness. Dr. Siddhant Kapila in his talk illustrated the various types of viruses, their mode of infection and precautionary measures such as avoiding contact with infected individual, properly washing of hands prior to our daily routine activities of eating, usage of tissues to wipe our face, etc. He practically discussed the technique to wash our hands properly which is otherwise neglected by us in our daily routine. The seminar was then concluded by Dr. Gurpreet Kaur by giving a brief introduction to this virus and its current statistics and by forwarding a vote of thanks. The take home message given by her was that it’s the prime duty of everyone to spread the awareness regarding precautions against Coronavirus so that nobody suffers and dies of ignorance.
