The Chemistry Department of SPN College Mukerian,celebrated National Science Day on 28/Feb/2024 with great fervor and enthusiasm, organizing poster making and model making competitions to engage students in creative expression and scientific exploration.Participants were tasked with creating posters and models that highlighted the importance of chemistry in everyday life, promoted environmental sustainability, or explored cutting-edge scientific concepts.
The poster making competition saw a diverse range of entries, each reflecting the students’ unique perspectives on the role of chemistry in society.
Simultaneously, the model making competition showcased the students’ ingenuity in translating scientific principles into tangible creations.

Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma,commended the participants for their outstanding efforts and creativity. he further remarked”Science Day provides a platform for students to not only showcase their talents but also deepen their appreciation for the wonders of science.” Prof. Parveen Saini,Head of the Chemistry Department stated ,”Through activities like poster and model making, we encourage students to explore the interdisciplinary nature of chemistry and its relevance in addressing global challenges.”
The Science Day celebrations concluded with a vote of thanks from the organizing committee, expressing gratitude to all participants, faculty members, and staff who contributed to the success of the event. The Chemistry Department looks forward to organizing more such initiatives in the future to inspire and nurture the next generation of scientific innovators.
