The 7-day NSS camp at Swami Premanand College, Mukerian, began with a grand opening ceremony. 150 volunteers enthusiastically participated in this camp. The chief guest at the opening ceremony was Dr. Praveen Goyal (NSS Coordinator, Punjab University, Chandigarh) and the special guest was Dr. Sonia Sharma (NSS Program Officer, Punjab University, Chandigarh).

Under the camp, EEP (EEP) activities organized by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in collaboration with the Punjab State Council of Science and Technology were included. These included street plays on environmental protection, invited lectures on the side effects of stubble burning, activities on Mission Life, awareness campaigns on waste segregation and activities like Fit India program.

The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the college principal Dr. Sameer Sharma, the chief guest, the special guest and the NSS program officers. The guests were welcomed by giving plants and bouquets.

Dr. Sonia Sharma highlighted the activities of the 7-day camp and motivated the students towards its objectives. Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma informed the volunteers about the objectives of NSS, emphasizing the importance of environmental protection and social service.

On the first day of the camp, the volunteers presented an inspiring skit with the message of saving the environment. After this, a tree plantation campaign was organized in the college campus. Chief guest Dr. Praveen Goyal explained in detail about the utility of NSS and its contribution to the society.

The program was conducted by Professor Shivam and concluded with the national anthem. This camp will provide a wonderful opportunity for the volunteers to understand the importance of social service, environmental protection and life skills.
