Ragging: A Punishable Offense
Students, parents, and guardians are hereby informed that ragging, in any form, is a serious offense and has been strictly prohibited by the Supreme Court.
Ragging refers to any act—verbal, written, or physical—by one or more students that results in teasing, mistreatment, or rude behavior toward a fresher or any other student. It also includes any disorderly or undisciplined actions that cause annoyance, hardship, or psychological distress, or create fear and apprehension in another student. Additionally, compelling a student to engage in activities they would not normally do, leading to embarrassment, shame, or torment, falls under ragging. Such actions may be driven by a desire for sadistic pleasure or an attempt to assert power, authority, or superiority over others.

- Creating public nuisance during ragging

- Causing physical harm or injury
- Wrongful restraint or confinement
- Use of criminal force, assault, or sexual offenses
- Extortion and criminal trespass
- Threats, intimidation, or psychological humiliation
- Any other actions that align with the definition of ragging
