The Career Counselling and Placement Cell of Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian, in collaboration with the Postgraduate Department of Computer Science, organized a career counselling session on “Career Opportunities in the IT Sector.” The session was conducted by a team from Alpha IT, Mohali, a reputed institute known for professional training and placements in the field of Information Technology.
The session began with a welcome address by Prof. Pankaj Sareen, In-Charge, Career Counselling and Placement Cell and also Head, Postgraduate Department of Computer Science, who warmly welcomed Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma and the resourse persons Mr. Pankaj Sharma and Mr. Vivek. He further shared information about the functioning of Alpha IT. He highlighted the growing importance of the IT sector and encouraged students to develop industry-oriented skills.
Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma congratulated the Career Counselling and Placement Cell and the Postgraduate Department of Computer Science for organizing such an informative and motivational session. He stated that the IT sector is one of the fastest-growing industries in today’s world and offers vast and diverse career opportunities for young professionals.
The resource persons for the session, Mr. Pankaj Sharma and Mr. Vivek from Alpha IT, Mohali, interacted with the students and shared detailed insights about emerging trends in areas such as software development, web designing, mobile app development, cyber security, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. They advised students to stay updated with modern technology, maintain a strong learning attitude, and strengthen both their technical and communication skills to excel in the IT field.
The session concluded with an interactive question-answer segment, during which students participated enthusiastically. The session proved highly beneficial as it provided students with a clear perspective on various career options and professional growth opportunities available in the IT industry.
In the end, Prof. Pankaj Sareen thanked the SPN College Managing Committee and Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma for their constant support. The event was also attended by Prof. Parveen, Prof. Pooja, Prof. Garima, and Prof. Navpreet. More than 50 students actively participated in the session and gained valuable insights into the expanding world of Information Technology.
