Under the aegis of the Department of Medical Research & Education, Government of India and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, an impactful Awareness Campaign on Organ Donation was organized by SPN Collegiate Senior Secondary School.
The program commenced with a warm welcome by Ms. Mandeep Kaur, In-Charge of SPN Collegiate Senior Secondary School, who extended heartfelt greetings to Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma and addressed the students. In her opening remarks, she highlighted the objective of the event—spreading awareness about the significance of organ donation and inspiring young minds to contribute towards this noble cause.
Dr. Sameer Sharma, Principal and Director of the institution, lauded the initiative and encouraged students to become active advocates of social welfare. He emphasized that organ donation is not merely an act of charity, but a profound responsibility that can save countless lives. He motivated the students to be socially aware citizens who take meaningful steps to serve humanity.
The keynote session was conducted by Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, Head, Department of Biology, who delivered an engaging and illustrative talk on organ donation. She explained in detail the procedure of organ donation, addressed common myths and misconceptions, and discussed the ethical considerations involved. Her talk inspired the students to view organ donation as an act of compassion that transcends personal boundaries.
As part of the campaign, a pledge ceremony was organized, where students committed themselves to raising awareness and, when possible, contributing to organ donation. They were also guided on the process of registering through the official government online portal and encouraged to take the online pledge to formalize their commitment.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Ms. Mandeep Kaur, who expressed gratitude to Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma, faculty members, and students for their enthusiastic participation. She reiterated that small steps taken today towards organ donation awareness can create a significant impact in the future.
