Inter-College Science Festival 2025

Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya celebrated National Science Day by organizing the Inter-College Science Festival 2025. The event was hosted by the Institution’s Innovation Cell in collaboration with the Student Development Centre and the Faculty of Sciences. The theme for the festival was “Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science & Innovation for Viksit Bharat.”

Inaugural Session
The festival was inaugurated by Dr. Varinder Kaur, Principal, GTB Khalsa College, Dasuya, who attended as the Chief Guest, along with Dr. Sameer Sharma, Principal, Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian. Dr. Deepika Sharma, In-Charge of the Institution’s Innovation Cell, welcomed the guests and highlighted the objectives of the event.

Dr. Sameer Sharma praised the participants for their enthusiasm and encouraged them to develop practical knowledge, a crucial need in today’s scientific world. Chief Guest Dr. Varinder Kaur applauded the students’ efforts and urged them to focus on innovation and skill development for a brighter future.

Competitions and Technical Sessions
The festival featured a series of competitions aimed at enhancing scientific knowledge, creativity, and practical application. Over 100 students from Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian and various other colleges, including GTB Khalsa College, Dasuya, Khalsa College, Mahilpur, Khalsa College, Garhdiwal and Dashmesh College, Chakk Allah Baksh, participated in the following events:

Session 1: Science Communication & Public Speaking

Declamation Contest – Participants delivered speeches on scientific topics, showcasing their research and communication skills.
Session 2: Scientific Knowledge & Critical Thinking

Quiz Competition – A challenging test of scientific knowledge and reasoning.
Session 3: Visual Science & Creativity

Poster Making – Students created artistic and informative posters to present scientific ideas.
Session 4: Scientific Innovation & Practical Application

Model Making – Participants designed both working and static models to demonstrate scientific principles.
Session 5: Digital Science & Presentations

PowerPoint Presentations – Students presented research-driven topics emphasizing technology and innovation.
Prize Distribution and Concluding Session
The Prize Distribution function was moderated by Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, In-Charge, Student Development Centre. Winners of various competitions were awarded prizes and certificates, while all participants received certificates of appreciation. Faculty members from participating colleges were also honored by Dr. Varinder Kaur and Dr. Sameer Sharma.

In the concluding session, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur and Dr. Deepika Sharma extended their gratitude to the Chief Guest, faculty members, participants, and the SPN College Management Committee for their support in making the event a success. They also acknowledged the efforts of college faculty and non-teaching staff.

The Inter-College Science Festival 2025 served as a dynamic platform for students to engage in scientific exploration, innovation, and creativity, fostering a spirit of research and learning.
