Hindi Diwas was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Postgraduate Department of Hindi at Swami Premanand
Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian under the guidance of Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma. On this occasion, Dr. Sonia Sharma, Head, Post Graduate Department of Hindi shared that Hindi Diwas is celebrated every year on September 14, as on this day in 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted Hindi as the official language of the country. The purpose of celebrating this day is to promote the importance of the Hindi language and encourage its use. Hindi is the most widely spoken language in India and is a symbol of the country’s cultural and national unity.
To commemorate this event, the Post Graduate Department of Hindi organized essay writing, story writing, and chart-making competitions in the college. Students actively participated, and the winners were honored. A special campaign, “Mere Hastakshar Hindi Mein,” was also launched on the occasion of Hindi Diwas. The program commenced with the lighting of a lamp and Saraswati Puja, followed by this, Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma initiated the campaign by putting his signatures in Hindi. He congratulated everyone on ‘Hindi Diwas’ and encouraged the students to promote the Hindi language. Afterward, the college staff and students participated by signing in Hindi, with many students enthusiastically joining the campaign.
At the end of the event, Dr. Sonia Sharma extended her gratitude to the College Management Committee and Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma for their special support in organizing the event. Prof. Seema, Prof. Shivam, and other students from the department were also present on this occasion.
