In a remarkable display of interdisciplinary collaboration, the English Department ofSPN College Mukerian,recently hosted a Teaching Aid Competition titled “Teach Tech Classroom Aid Design Competition”, attracting participation not only from its own faculty and students but also from departments across the academic spectrum, including Mathematics, Chemistry, Punjabi,Political Science and History. The event, held on 5/April/2024, marked a significant step towards fostering cross-disciplinary engagement and innovation in teaching methodologies.The competition showcased a diverse range of teaching aids, spanning from language-based tools to scientific models and historical artifacts. Participants hailing from various departments presented innovative approaches to enhance the learning experience, leveraging their respective fields of expertise to create engaging and informative educational materials. Their assessments took into account factors such as creativity, pedagogical effectiveness, and alignment with curriculum standards.After rigorous deliberation, winners were announced across multiple categories,highlighting the exceptional efforts and ingenuity demonstrated by participants from different academic backgrounds.Principal Dr.Sameer Sharma grace the event as chief guest and judge.He lauded the collaborative spirit exhibited by participants and emphasized the value of integrating diverse perspectives and methodologies in teaching practices. Prof.Rupinder Jeet Kaur (President ,English Literary Society) expressed optimism about the potential for cross-disciplinary synergy to inspire innovation and drive educational excellence.The Teaching Aid Competition served as a testament to the college’s commitment to fostering holistic learning experiences and promoting collaboration across disciplines.
On this occasion Prof . Nidhi Sood,HOD English Department stated that such initiatives not only enrich the educational journey of students but also contribute to the professional development of educators, equipping them with the tools and insights needed to meet the complex challenges of modern education.At the end she presented a vote of thanks to the Principal Sir for his kind guidance and support and also paid gratitude to the faculty and students of other departments also.
