The Home Science and Fashion Designing departments of Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya,Mukerian organized a one-day workshop on ‘Art in Action’.
In this workshop there was an enthusiastic participation from students of the college as well as from other schools.Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma graced the workshop as the chief guest. He praised the organizing departments for arranging the program and emphasized that the main objective of this one-day workshop was to provide appropriate knowledge about art and craftsmanship to students. The event was successful in achieving this goal, with many students from S.P.N. Senior Secondary School, Mukerian and Cambridge Overseas School, Mukerian. Prof. Harpreet Kaur, the head of the Home Science and Fashion Designing department, mentioned that in this one-day workshop, teachers and students of the department taught mandala art, lip art, calligraphy, block painting, and stencil. Furthermore, detailed information about other painting arts was also provided during the workshop. She stated that through art, students not only develop their artistic skills but also undergo mental development. Students can learn to express their emotions through art and we can understand the mentality and interests of students and can focus them towards a better future. Also she thanked the SPN College Managment Committee and Principal, Dr. Sameer Sharma, for their special support in organizing this workshop. Madam Monika Saini, Miss Jaswinder Kaur, Miss Jyoti, Mr. Ashish Minhas and students from SPN College were also present at this occasion.
