National Workshop on ‘Entrepreneurship Development Through Skills’ was organized at Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian by the Career Counselling and Students Development Cell in collaboration. The event commenced with the welcome and introductory session by Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, In-Charge Students Development Cell. Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma welcomed the eminent speakers of the workshop and encouraged the conduct of such National level workshops especially in the rural areas where employment and livelihood earning means could be generated by merely use of the skills of the youth. This is not only source of opportunity but also leads to the development of the society.
The first technical session started with the brief introduction of Mr. Samarath Sharma, Consultant MGNCRE, Ministry of Education and the guest speaker of the National Workshop. Mr. Samarth Sharma is a distinguished educationist, a source of motivation, and a seasoned counselorand has emerged as a beacon of hope and guidance for the youth.
He is passionate for rural development by his innovative solutions to uplift rural communities, thereby bridging the urban-rural divide.
He has played a key role as
Swachhta Action Plan Catalyst under the MGNCRE, Ministry of Education ; as Curriculum Development Advocate and has also been part of many projects under Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD).He delivered an extremely informative lecture by demonstrating the live examples and videos to the students on Karigari (Skill) and Karobari ( Entrepreneurship). He explained how a team work through self help groups in an area can lead to success of youth ending up to a successful livelihood generation through skills and with just a small investment.Prof.Pankaj Sareen, In-Charge Career Counselling and Placement Cell undertook the second technical session of the Natiknal Workshop by first introducing the second guest speaker, Mr. Ajay Tanwar to the audience. The second technical session on ‘Setting up of small business using Social media’ by Mr. Ajay Tanwar, Consultant MGNCRE ( Ministry of Education) was also an eye opener for the new generation who are very much connected to the social media. Mr. Ajay is a multifaceted professional with expertise as a educationist, motivator, and counselor. His also holds an expertise in the fields of fashion design and digital marketing. Besides his role of a Consultant at MGNCRE, a part of the Ministry of Education under the Government of India and connected to Ministry of Human Resource Development, his action research in higher education institutions has yielded valuable insights and improvements of the education sector. He has ben a source of fostering educational growth, creating opportunities for collaboration and exchange of ideas that can benefit the entire education community. His hands on training and explanation of use of various social media websites for earning opportunities generated a hope of assurance among the youth who wish to earn and become independent becoming a helping hand to their parents as well as the society.
The aim of the National workshop is the utmost necessity in the today’s fast world where career building and employment go side by side.
The SPN College Managing Committee and Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma appreciated the organizing of such workshop by the Career Counselling and Students Development Cell of the college and also thanked Mr. Samarath Sharma and Mr. Ajay Tanwar whose guidance generated a ray of hope among the youngsters that awareness and skill in combination can help them in generating employments for them themselves. The workshop was supervised by Dr. Jasminder Singh, Dr. Amrinder Kaur,Dr.Anjana Dadhwal, Prof. Sonia Agarwal, Prof. Rekha Rani,Dr.Chandra Shekhar, Prof. Shaina Parmar, Prof. Parveen. The event was conducted with the help and support of Prof. Meenu, Prof. Isha Sharma, Paramjit and Mr. Manish.
The workshop concluded by vote of thanks by Ms. Rupinder Jeet Kaur, member, Career Counselling and Placement cell and the honouring of the guests speakers of the National Workshop.
