Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya participated in the Zonal Youth and Heritage festival held at GGDSD College, Hariana from September 27th to September 30th,2023. SPN College has always showcased its strong competitive spirit and outstanding performances in the Youth and Heritage Festivals organized by Panjab University, Chandigarh. Detailing the first day performances Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma informed that a total of fifteen awards were won on the very first day itself in different items by the students. These awards included first place in group singing, folk dance (Luddi), Guddian Patole, Mitti de Khidaune, and Rassa making. The students secured the second position in chiku, peedhi, and paranda making. Third place was achieved in Indian group singing, solo singing, folk song, nala and tokri making. Additionally, the first and second positions in individual performances in Luddi folk dance were also achieved.
On the second day of the youth festival, SPN college was credited to first Position in Folk Instrument, Group Folk Orchestra,Phulkari,Bagh, Pakhi Desiging,Essay Writing
and Handwriting (Hindi).Further the second position was achieved in
Ladies Traditional Song,
Knitting, Story Writing and ythird Position in Kavishri, Crochet Work and Poem writing.
On the Third Day of the Zonal youth festival SPN college bagged First position in Histonics, second position in Cartooning and third position in One Act Play, Mime individual,On Spot painting, Photography, Poem Recitation and Gidha.
On the final day of the youth festival the entire pavilion came alive with the bhangra performance of SPN College. The last day of the youth festival featured folk dances, Bhangra, Skit and general Dance, with Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya Mukerian delivering an outstanding performance. SPN College secured the first place in Histionics, Folk Dance Bhangra And Classical Dance. Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma also mentioned that SPN College has been consistently winning the top spot in Bhangra, the main attraction of the youth festival, year after year. Also SPN college has also encouraged and promoted classical dance in the Hoshiarpur Zone. On this occassion SPN College Management Committee and Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma congratulated the victorious students, their coaches and parents. They also appreciated the efforts of ECA In-charge Dr. Kiranjit Kaur and other In-charges Dr. Jasminder, Prof. Anuradha, Prof. Rupinder Jeet Kaur, Prof. Bikramjeet Singh, Dr. Sonia Sharma, Dr. Ashok Chaudhary, Dr. Amrinder Kaur, Prof. Rekha Rani, Prof.Shaina Parmar, Prof. Sonia Agarwal, Prof. Taranjit Kaur, Prof.Monika Saini, other teaching staff and the non teaching staff on their duties at the Youth and Heritage festival.
