World Sanskrit Day 2023

World Sanskrit Day was celebrated by Department of Sanskrit with great enthusiasm at Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian. On this occasion Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma congratulated the students and emphasized that Sanskrit is the foundation of science. Rishis like Aryabhata, Charvaka, Gautam, Patanjali, and others had given the world a new direction, which contributed to the development of science today. He stressed the importance of understanding Sanskrit alongside modernity because Sanskrit and Indian culture are fundamental pillars of our nation.
Following this, the Sanskrit Department Student Committee presented a book on Sanskrit conversation to the Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma. The Head, Department of Sanskrit, Dr. Gopi Sharma shared interesting facts about Sanskrit and science. He elaborated on employment opportunities and new research related to Sanskrit. The students were also shown a Sanskrit documentary to which they responded with great interest. In the end, Dr. Gopi Sharma expressed gratitude for the constant support of the college management committee and Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma on behalf of the department. As part of World Sanskrit Day, the college also organized a special exhibition featuring artworks related to Sanskrit and science, with the presence of students from the Sanskrit department.
