Tree Plantation: NSS Initiative

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian in coordination with Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India organized a tree plantation drive under ‘My Earth, My Country’ youth program initiated by the Indian Government in lieu of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. Dr. Sonia Sharma, NSS In-charge ( Girls wing) mentioned that the SPN college NSS volunteers, under the guidance of Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma, planted shade giving and fruit-bearing plants in Dharampur village. The campaign initiated by plantation of a tree by Principal Dr. Sameer Sharma. He while addressing the volunteers encouraged to work selflessly and motivated to fulfill one’s duty towards nature to provide a clean environment for future generations. Subsequently, NSS students, with the support of the village Sarpanch and other village members in Dharampur, planted trees in essential locations. People were made aware of benefits of tree plantation. An oth was taken to work maximally for making the environment clean and safe. The NSS In-charges Dr. Sonia Sharma ( Girls Wing) and Dr. Pradeep Kumar Senger (Boys Wing) thanked the College Management Committee and Principal Dr. Samer Sharma for their special support. They also expressed gratitude to the people of Dharampur village. On this occasion, Dr. Jasminder Singh, Dr. Ashok Chaudhary, Prof. Bikramjit Singh, Prof. Sofia, Prof. Seema, and Prof. Shivam were present along with volunteer students.
